COVID INFECTION RATE CROSSES SAFE 5 PERCENT MARK IN DELHI

According to World Health Organization (WHO), a positivity rate below 5% is safe, but now Delhi’s infection rate has crossed the safe mark as it recorded 3,548 fresh infections on Monday while 15 more people ceased. This increment has been noted for the first time since December 1, 2020. The positivity rate was 6.85% in Delhi then. On Sunday, the positivity rate in Delhi rose to 4.64% from 4.48% a day earlier but on Monday, it reached 5.54% – suggesting that more people are testing positive in the bracket of those being tested. Therefore, the caseload is rising rapidly since March. People are urged to follow the guidelines given by the government and get the vaccines to curb the infection.
