BIGGEST-EVER ONE-DAY SPIKE OF 2,61,500 FRESH CORONAVIRUS CASES IN INDIA

The Union Health Ministry on Sunday (18th April) released its data which showed the highest-ever single-day rise of 2,61,500 COVID-19 cases in India. The total tally of COVID-19 cases has increased up to 1,47,88,109 and the number of active cases gas exceeded the 19-lakh mark. Even the death count increased with a record 1,629 new fatalities in a single day. The total number of deaths die to COVID-19 in India is more than 1,77,000. For the 39th day in a row, the cases have seen a steady increase, and the active cases stand at 19,29,329. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has dropped to 86%.
